The light of the Apricot Altar, the ancestor of Confucianism.

Throughout the long river of history, there have always been some glorious figures. With their profound thoughts and outstanding wisdom, they have illuminated the progress of human civilization. Confucius, the great thinker and educator in ancient China, is one of them. In my eyes, Confucius is not only the founder of the Confucian school but also a treasure of Chinese culture. His thoughts and spirit are still shining brightly to this day.
Confucius' whole life was a pursuit of truth and wisdom. The thought of "benevolence" put forward by him is like a bright lamp, illuminating the darkness in people's hearts. In that era of frequent wars and the collapse of rites and music, Confucius advocated "restraining oneself and returning to the rites", hoping that people could restore social harmony and order through self-restraint. This emphasis on morality and etiquette reflects Confucius' firm belief in the inherent goodness of human nature.
Confucius' educational concepts also deeply impressed me. He advocated "education for all without discrimination", believing that education should be available to everyone, regardless of their social status, wealth or poverty. This educational concept was undoubtedly revolutionary at that time, as it broke the monopoly of the nobles on knowledge and gave more people the opportunity to receive education. Confucius also paid attention to teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, adopting different teaching methods according to the different characteristics and abilities of students. This personalized educational approach is still widely referred to and applied today.
Confucius' wisdom is manifested not only in his thoughts and educational concepts but also in his personal charm. He had a bumpy life but always maintained an optimistic and open-minded attitude. Facing difficulties, he never gave up but persevered in pursuing his ideals. His indomitable spirit has inspired countless successors to move forward bravely on the road of life.
Among Confucius' many disciples, Yan Hui was undoubtedly the one who could best embody Confucius' spirit. Yan Hui came from a poor family but remained content with poverty and devoted himself to the pursuit of learning. He firmly believed in Confucius' teachings and always adhered to his own beliefs and pursuits. Yan Hui's spirit is a true portrayal of what Confucius advocated, that is, "being content with poverty while delighting in the Way, and loving propriety when wealthy".
Although Confucius' life was full of hardships and setbacks, his thoughts and spirit have always remained in people's hearts. The values such as "benevolence", "propriety, righteousness, integrity and a sense of shame" put forward by him have been deeply engraved in the cultural genes of the Chinese nation. In today's era of rapid development, we need Confucius' wisdom even more to guide us forward.
In my eyes, Confucius is a great thinker, educator and moral model. His thoughts and spirit have not only influenced the development of ancient Chinese society but also provided valuable references for modern society. Let us remember Confucius' teachings, treat others with a heart of "benevolence", and take "propriety, righteousness, integrity and a sense of shame" as our code of conduct, so as to jointly build a harmonious and beautiful society.
The light of the Apricot Altar will shine brightly for thousands of years; the ancestor of Confucianism will bestow blessings for countless generations. May we all draw wisdom and strength from Confucius' thoughts and spirit and strive hard to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
